About The School
Brad at the forge

The Forgery School of Blacksmithing was founded in 1986 by Robb Gunter.  The new and updated facility can accommodate up to twelve students per class.  We focus on individual attention in a clean, well organized and well equipped shop environment.  Each student will have a complete work station with their own coal forge, anvil, vice and tooling setup with all materials provided.
There is a variety of lodging and restaurant options within three miles of the shop and light refreshments will be provided for each class.

About The Instructors
Chad making hammers

The Gunter family is two generations of professional blacksmiths each specializing in their own areas of expertise.  Robb Gunter began blacksmithing in 1980.  His oldest son Chad Gunter started shortly after in 1981 and his youngest, Brad Gunter, followed in 1986.  Their custom architectural iron work has taken them all over the south west and other parts of the country and has given them diversity in style and technique.  They have also been featured demonstrators and instructors at many conferences and schools throughout the country.
